About

Bodies of Culture is dedicated to evolving the local music ecosystem to create a more equitable future for young artists and our peers by identifying and closing EID gaps and establishing a culture of belonging and solidarity. We are committed to supporting BIPOC youth in music participation and community programs that celebrate cultural identity and self-expression, understand the healing power of music, and empower musical self-discovery and exploration.

PROGRAM GOALS

  • Foster partnerships to create a mentorship program that connects aspiring young creatives with established BIPOC artists and industry professionals.

  • Facilitate comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training for local music venues using the data gathered from the surveys.

  • Organize regular meetups, workshops, and collaborative events to foster and deepen connections.

  • Serve as a resource hub for artists and industry professionals of color, through advocacy for equitable compensation, visibility, and representation within the local music industry and offering guidance, mentorship, and educational resources.
